Jr. Girls Basketball

The Jr. Girls Basketball team hosted King’s-Edgehill yesterday in the district final matchup with the winner moving on to Regionals. The Titans were quick out of the gate in this one but King’s-Edgehill made some scoring runs of their own in a back-and-forth first quarter. With Allie Rutt in early foul trouble, our girls fought hard to create scoring opportunities and were lifted by two crucial three-pointers from Kaila Smith before the half.

Challenged by some defensive pressure from King’s-Edgehill, the Titans started the second half a little shaky, but kept their composure and were able to execute and eventually move the ball up the floor leading to some transition baskets. In the last quarter, despite a late push from the opposition who closed the gap to within four points, the girls kept up the offensive attack and made some key stops in the final minutes of the game. They followed the game plan and made adjustments when they needed to. Everyone on the team contributed in a meaningful way to an exciting 56-49 win and the girls are proud to be this year’s District Champions! Well done, ladies, and good luck next week at Regionals!

The Ski Team competed yesterday at the 2nd district race at Ski Martock. Carmen Oulton finished 1st in intermediate girls and 2nd overall among all female divisions.
