Land Acknowledgement

We would like to acknowledge that it is our privilege to work, play, live and learn in Mi'kma'ki, the traditional, and unsurrendered land of the Mi’kmaq people.  We recognize that we are descendants of settlers and that acknowledgments continue to be important to remind us that we must sustain the process of listening and learning which are integral to reconciliation    

We are all treaty people

NKEC Movie Night

A reminder for all Middle School students to check your email! There will be a movie for the Middle School only on Thursday, April 18 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. There is a Google Form for you to fill out regarding the movie that will be played. It’s a $5 entrance fee that includes one pop and a popcorn. Bring your comfiest PJs for our movie night next Thursday!

NKEC Badminton

Our NKEC badminton team traveled to Yarmouth on the weekend to compete at Regionals. There were a lot of hard fought games that went to extra points and sets. In the end the team did not qualify for provincials but picked up a lot of valuable experience for next year. Congratulations on a great season. 

Reminder, that badminton club will continue to run Tuesday and Wednesday after school until the May long weekend. 

Track and Field

A reminder to all track athletes to get their forms into Mrs. Baldwin as soon as possible.  Also, if you are ordering a t-shirt orders must be in by April 26th.

Track and Field - Throwing 

This is a reminder of throwing practice for all athletes interested in javelin, shot-put, and discus today and Wednesday after school till 4:15 pm. 

Stage Crew

We will have a regular meeting immediately after the announcements this morning.

MUSIC DEPARTMENT

This morning, Grade 7’s have a single rehearsal during Period 3. This afternoon, Period 8, both Grade 7 & 8 band members have a rehearsal. After school, until 4:45 pm, Sr. Concert Band will have a rehearsal. Come prepared to work hard and get some more music concert ready!

MIddle School Flag Rugby:

Practice today from 3:30-4:30 on the Middle school soccer field.
